What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file placed in your browser by the website you visit. Your browser also has local storage (sessionStorage, localStorage, IndexedDB), which plays a similar role. The law refers to them collectively as “trackers”.
Browser storage
The website also keeps some information in your browser’s storage. It leaves your device only to provide the service you request: sending a catch, your place in the queue, the visitor counter.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
dc-booking | Draft of the booking in progress, so nothing is lost if you reload the page. | When the tab is closed |
dc-tunnel | Your place in the booking queue, shared across your tabs. | Until you next join the queue |
dc-sid | Random tab identifier, for the anonymous visitor counter. | When the tab is closed |
dc-loaded | Shows the opening animation only once per visit. | When the tab is closed |
dc-client-bienvenue | Welcome message after you set your password. | When the tab is closed |
dc-carnet-session, dc-carnet | Your catch log, and catches entered offline while they wait to be sent. | Until you log out of the catch log or the catches are sent |
Third-party services
Stripe: the payment module sets its own cookies to secure payments and prevent fraud. They are necessary for online payment.
YouTube: the website’s videos only load if you click play; until then, only their thumbnail is shown. YouTube (Google) may then set its own cookies, in accordance with its privacy policy.
The website uses no third-party audience measurement tools, no social media buttons and no advertising.
Why is there no cookie banner?
The trackers listed here are strictly necessary for the website to work or for a service you request: login, booking, payment, language, theme. Under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés), they are exempt from consent; this is why the website does not display a cookie banner.
The visitor counter relies on a random identifier, specific to each tab, which is not linked to any other data and disappears when the tab is closed.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block the website’s cookies and storage at any time in your browser settings, under “Privacy” or “Cookies”. Without them, logging in to the customer area, booking and payment no longer work.
The CNIL, the French data protection authority, explains how to control cookies at cnil.fr. For any question: contact@domainedecieux.fr.
